Rivet nuts from ITA Fasteners is a single piece component which has internal threads which can be considered as counterbored tubular rivets. They are extensively used in applications where screws have to be inserted and fastened from only one side due to the structural build of the application. They are used mostly in hospitals due to their ability to fasten components from only one side. The side from which these nuts can be inserted is called the ‘blind side.'
One of the most popular types of rivet nuts is the one which is designed to bulb on the blind side as a threaded screw or bolt. The other type of the rivet nut can be tightened using a threaded screw or pin and pulled into a sleeve. They also find their application in the making of aircraft wings and more recently in robotics. It is available in stainless steel, carbon steel, and alloy steel materials to bear more wear and tear while also making it more corrosion resistant.
