Wave lock washers from ITA Fasteners are, like the name suggests, wavy washers designed to produce a compensating spring force when the washer is under force. They are excellent shock absorbers and prevent the disintegration of the assembly due to vibrations and small movements. They are engineered to deflect pressure in a linear range. This allows them to provide the perfect preload tension between two surfaces. Their operational limit is defined by their load rating or yield point.
The axial strain experienced by the washed due to the direct load placement is a function of the load and the spring placement. It is also called the spring rate. It determines the maximum possible load the washer can take. Simply put, if the washer has a higher number of waves, it can take on more lead. You can also use thicker washers to improve its load-bearing capacity. It is available in stainless steel, carbon steel, and alloy steel to bear more wear and tear while also making it more corrosion resistant.
