Two Tongue Washers

Description:

Two tongue washers from ITA fasteners are tough and durable. The two tongues are sheets which prevent the loosening of nuts and other fasteners. The tongues also sit in slots to keep a flat washer from rotating when a fastener is tightened over it. When a washer does not stay still and rotates while a fastener is fixed on a surface, the chances of ruining the underlying surface is extremely high. If the surface has an acetate cover or paint, it can be pulled up by a twisting and loose washer. This can also increase the damage to areas surrounding the immediate surface in contact with the washer.

When fasteners like nuts are screwed over an uneven surface, the load is unevenly distributed which can cause the nut to loosen over a period of time. To reduce the possibility of this from happening, two tongue lock washers can sit in slits and reduce the effects of vibration and torque.
